“I vowed to make only One Dress that needs as much effort, (wo)man power and time to create as a whole collection"

— Ms Tammam

Words about women, for women, by women

Every word on One Dress has been embroidered on by a female artisan, the words represent womanhood, chosen by and dedicated to anyone, the dress is a piece of collective couture, owned by everyone who has contributed.

Embroidered in the UK, India, Kenya and Brazil by women, with words that define feminism & women's empowerment

One Dress brings its collaborators together, Inspiring investment in the emotion of fashion without the waste of over-consumption

The dress is currently on display at the Tammam Studio in Bloomsbury. A tour schedule will be announced soon.

Now the dress is complete, it will be worn by a selection of inspirational women and photographed by female photographers. The dress, photographs and register will be displayed over the next year. The register is a record of this historical dress, crediting and naming all the contributors, an integral part of the story, the register will be kept with the dress, allowing anyone who sees it to better understand the history of its making, valuing the creators who have put so much love and dedication into making this unique piece of couture art.

Artisans In London

Ms Tammam created the Tammam label in 2007 to offer stylish and sustainable fashion collections. Through the One Dress project she hopes to bring artisans to the forefront of the valuation of a garment - joining women together across the word.

Daisy Bailes has worked as a petit mains at Atelier Tammam since 2016. “I’ve met so many amazing people and I’ve learnt a lot about the importance of friendship and sisterhood. i’m proud of to be a part of One Dress and I’m proud to be a woman.”

Michela joined the Tammam Atelier in 2019. “Being part of the One Dress project gave me the opportunity of feeling connected with all the women around the world involved. It’s a real experience of sisterhood and equality and it’s a big honour for me to be part of creating all this beauty.”

Nadya joined Atelier Tammam as an intern to develop her sewing skills. “One Dress is a lovely and original way of incorporating every kind of woman in one piece”

Eva and Natasha live locally to the Atelier, they joined us as embroiderers for the One Dress project. “I find the embroideries and the overall vision inspiring”
